The town of Wilber is already preparing for the 2008 National Czech Festival held on August 1, 2, and 3, 2008. There’s a lot to see and do during this weekend. The Festival kicks off at Friday at 5:00 p.m. Friday evenings activities include the Accordion Jamboree, Wilber Czech Dancers, and the Children's Parade.

On Saturday morning you can start off your day by participating in the Duck and Dumpling Run at 7:00 a.m. Throughout the rest of the weekend you can enjoy activities for all ages such as the Art Show, dance contest, Czech dinners, Museum tours, Quilt Show, Czech heritage demonstrations and the sounds of various Polka bands. The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. on both days. After the parade, at the outdoor theatre, Nebraska Czechs of Wilber President, Charlie Keller and Wilber Mayor, Roger Chrans will welcome all visitors to the City of Wilber and will also make introductions to special guests throughout the afternoon and evening. The Miss Czech-Slovak U.S.A. Queen Pageant begins at 7:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at the Outdoor Theatre. The Czech Historical Pageant is held on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Other activities include the Polka Mass, Talent Contest, Czech Museum, Kolace eating contest, dancing and much, much, more! For more information regarding the festival call 1-888-4-Wilber or visit the web site at www.ci.wilber.ne.us.
