"Barnas Drug, Inc. is located in Wilber, Nebraska, the proclaimed Czech Capital of the USA. Established in 1963, and incorporated in 1984, Barnas Drug, Inc. still offers a full line pharmacy with 24 hour emergency service. Registered Pharmacist is Steve Barnas.
While Steve Barnas runs the pharmacy, his wife Allison Barnas, has worked hard to build a quaint gift store offering a large range of gift lines including, Seraphim Classics by Roman, Inc., Sarah's Angels, Boyd's Bears, Enesco and Hallmark. In a town filled with people of Czech heritage, Czech Glassware and Bohemian Garnets are the main areas of specialty items of interest. The wide variety of gifts brings people all over from surrounding areas into the small community of Wilber.
You can also go back in time as you travel into Barnas Drug's museum. This room features an old fashioned soda fountain and juke box. Also on display is old apothecary nostalgia such as old medicine bottles and measuring supplies. If you look closely through all the displays, you can find the eye doctor's appendix.
As you go to leave Barnas Drug, you can walk to the West side of the building where you will find a mural which proclaims Wilber the Czech Capital of the USA. This mural depicts items of Czech Heritage such as Czech Dancers, Kolaces, the Czech Flag, and a hidden mug of beer.
Even though Barnas Drug is a small store located in a small town, they have a lot to offer. There is a lot to see and do here but what brings people to Barnas Drug the most is the friendly service they receive while they are here.
